Vintage Finnish "Cloud" Glass Vase by Markku Salo – 1980s Nuutajärvi Arabia

Stunning Nordic modernism Vase with this beautiful vintage "Cloud" glass vase (originally named Cumulus). Designed in the 1980s by the acclaimed Finnish artist Markku Salo for Nuutajärvi / Arabia Finland, this piece has a organic scalloped rim that mimics a cloud paired with heavily textured, bark-like vertical ridges, the bottom is a cloud design too. Lovely for a bunch of fleurs, this was mine and its been with me a decade, the glass has a warm, slightly yellowish/amber undertone rather than a brilliant bright crystal clarity, which is very typical of the older glass formulations from this era. Would make a gorgeous gift. Perfect for:
Collectors of authentic Finnish design, mid-century modern (MCM) styling, or minimalist earthy home decor.

Period: 1980s
Condition: No chips or cracks, not brilliant crystal as stated above
Dimensions: H 23 cm x W of top 10 cm approx

I try to contribute to save the planet, so buy vintage its so much nicer than the new. All packaging is recyclable and nothing fancy folks, wrapped extremely well. I try to stay clear of more paper, cards for less landfill.

I work in the theatre arts entertainment industry and have a design background. x L
